Balik ekmek — fresh grilled fish (usually mackerel or sea bass) stuffed in crusty bread with onion and rocket, sold from stalls along the marina — a Turkish harbour staple at its best.
Manti — tiny hand-pinched Turkish dumplings filled with seasoned lamb, topped with garlicky yogurt and browned butter; order at a lokanta (casual Turkish restaurant) away from the marina for the authentic version.
Raki and meze — the classic Turkish evening ritual: small plates of cacik (yogurt-cucumber), stuffed vine leaves, grilled octopus, and white cheese, paired with anise-flavoured raki diluted with ice water (turns cloudy, called 'lion's milk').
