About Geiranger

Geiranger sits at the head of the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage fjord and one of the most spectacular cruise destinations on earth. Sheer cliffs plunge into deep blue-green water, waterfalls like the Seven Sisters tumble hundreds of feet, and abandoned farms cling to impossible ledges. The tiny village is simply a base for drinking in the scenery — by hairpin road, hiking trail, or the deck of your ship.

The scenery IS the excursion here — spend time on deck for the sail-in, and pick a tour for the high viewpoints (Dalsnibba or Eagle Road) since they reveal the fjord from above. It can be cool and damp even in summer, so layer up.
