About Montego Bay

Montego Bay is Jamaica's north-coast resort capital — reggae, jerk, and easy beaches. The cruise port at Freeport is minutes from Doctor's Cave Beach and the lively Hip Strip, while the surrounding parish offers bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae, the grand (and famously haunted) Rose Hall great house, and plenty of rum. The big eastern attractions like Dunn's River are a long drive, so 'Mo Bay' is best enjoyed close to home.

Dunn's River Falls and Ocho Rios are 1.5–2 hours east — from Montego Bay the calmer, closer picks are the Martha Brae bamboo raft and Rose Hall. Negotiate and confirm taxi fares up front, and keep some small USD or J$ for the Hip Strip.
