Livorno is the Tuscan port that opens the door to Florence and Pisa — two of Italy's greatest art-and-architecture cities. Florence, about 90 minutes away, is the cradle of the Renaissance: the Duomo, Michelangelo's David, and the Uffizi. Pisa's Leaning Tower is closer. Between them lie the vineyards and hill towns of Tuscany, making this one of the Med's most rewarding (if logistically ambitious) port days.
